919 Lacrosse Association, L.L.C. Coaching Staff

Doug Greenberg

919 Lacrosse Association, L.L.C. Director

919 LACROSSE ASSOCIATION DIRECTOR

Coach Greenberg is originally from Pittsburgh , PA and played for western Pennsylvania coaching legend Peter Tulk.  He is a National Board Certified science teacher at Middle Creek H.S., NC and is married to Kim (also a teacher) with 2 boys -- Nathan (Hobart College Class of 2024/Middle Creek H.S. Class of 2020) and Landon (University of Maryland - Baltimore County Class of 2028/Middle Creek H.S. Class of 2024)

Coach Greenberg has been a long time NC high school varsity coach, successful travel team coach and director (919 Lax Elite), and youth lacrosse director (YLS Thunderhawks) since 1998.  With a handful of dedicated student-athletes, he built the first WCPSS Varsity lacrosse team at Southeast Raleigh H.S.  After an 8 year climb into the NC Top 10 and a streak of playoff births with outstanding and pioneering SRHS student-athletes, he went on to open up Holly Springs H.S. with a very young Varsity lacrosse program, winning an undefeated conference title with no seniors.  He was the first NCHSAA lacrosse coach to build two startup programs and earn playoff spots & wins.  For 12 years he turned HSHS  into an East Region powerhouse while also helping to build many area Middle School and Elementary School teams.  Developing several All Americans and over a dozen All-State players, some of his top athletes went on to play at Virginia & Loyola (winning NCAA D1 Titles), Lenoir Rhyne (winning NCAA D2 Titles), Providence, Air Force, Mt. St. Mary's, and Hobart to name a few.   During a long streak of playoff success, he was awarded the NC Coach of the Year and earned the 2X Conference Coach of the Year for his dedication to developing the complete student-athlete with 20 straight years of V teams with a 3.5 GPA or higher.

As the Director of the 919 Lacrosse Association, L.L.C., he works with an amazing staff of assistant coaches to provide competitive leagues, advanced skill training for elite players, and fundamental camps / free clinics for new players to help grow the game for all schools, regions, and travel program affiliations.  He also devotes a lot of time training young assistant coaches to become effective teachers for travel teams, high schools, and leagues throughout the NC Triangle.

Coach Greenberg is currently an assistant coach for the Middle Creek H.S. Mustangs, helping them win the 2022 NCHSAA 4A State Championship.

Rick Weber

919 Camp and League Director, Boys

BOYS CAMP & LEAGUE DIRECTOR

After earning his degree and playing lacrosse at the University of Toledo and Kent State, Rick Weber has been coaching lacrosse in the NC Triangle at the high school (Athens Dr., Holly Springs H.S., Middle Creek H.S.), youth, and travel level since 2001.  He has developed thousands of high school varsity or collegiate student-athletes as a well-respected players' coach.  He is one of the true 'Iron Men' of lacrosse in the Triangle, dedicating time every week to the responsible growth and development of the game.

Coach Weber is a long-time WCPSS teacher, having been at A.B. Combs for years before making an impact at his current employment with West Lake E.S.   He is a huge Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates fan and enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.    Coach Weber is an assistant coach at Middle Creek H.S. Mustangs and helped them win the 2022 NCHSAA 4A State Championship.
